Mykonos High Season Rates
Almost nobody in this industry publishes how their pricing works, which is why almost every booking involves a small anxiety about what the final figure will be. We would rather remove that. This page sets out the whole structure: what the base rate covers, how the seasons change it, what the area supplements are for, and when money actually changes hands.
It is written for adults arranging a legal booking with another adult.
In summary: there is a base hourly rate published on each companion’s profile, typically from around 120 to 150 euro. That rate is higher in the peak weeks between late June and early September than it is in the shoulder months. On top of it sits a travel supplement determined purely by where you are on the island, which is nothing in Chora and largest on the east coast. Longer bookings are priced at a lower effective hourly rate, and overnight is a single figure rather than a multiple of hours. Payment is cash in euro at the start. How pricing works on Mykonos
Why the island is not priced like Athens
Everything on Mykonos costs more in August than in May — hotels, restaurants, transfers, sunbeds, everything. That is not a quirk of this industry; it is how the island’s entire economy operates, because it earns a year’s income in four months. Companion rates follow the same curve, and they follow it for the same reason: in peak weeks demand exceeds supply.
The three pricing windows
High season runs from roughly the last week of June to the first week of September. Shoulder season covers May, early June and the second half of September. Outside those, the island is largely closed and availability is arranged case by case.
What the rate covers
The companion’s time for the booked duration. Nothing else is added except the area travel supplement, which is quoted at the time of booking and never afterwards. There is no agency fee, no booking fee and no arrival charge.
High season: late June to early September
Peak weeks
The busiest period is the last two weeks of July and the whole of August. Rates are at their highest and availability at its tightest, particularly at weekends. Booking ahead in this window is worth real money in terms of the choice it gives you.
Weekend versus midweek
Weekends in season are busier than midweek and availability reflects that. Pricing does not change between the two, but what you can actually book does.
Minimum durations in peak
One hour in Chora and the near bays. Two hours for the interior, the east coast and any booking involving significant travel. Three hours for yacht bookings at a berth and four at anchor.
Shoulder season: May, early June, late September
Availability and pricing
Rates return to the base level — from around 120 to 150 euro per hour depending on the companion — and availability is comfortable. Same-day bookings are straightforward and you get a real choice rather than whoever is free.
Why shoulder season books more easily

Travel supplements by area
Chora and the near bays
No supplement for Mykonos Town and its immediate surroundings. This is the only supplement-free zone on the island.
Ornos, Platis Gialos and Psarou
The smallest supplement. Journeys of ten to twenty minutes from town. Agios Ioannis, Tourlos and Agios Stefanos sit in the same band.
Ano Mera and the interior
A moderate supplement. Journeys of twenty to thirty-five minutes, often on unnamed roads.
Kalafatis and the east coast
The largest land supplement. Journeys of thirty-five to fifty minutes, longer in August. Kalo Livadi, Elia, Agia Anna and Lia are in this band.
Yachts and tenders
Berth bookings at Tourlos or the old port are charged as Chora-area bookings with no marine supplement. Anchorage bookings carry a transfer supplement for the additional time. The tender itself is arranged and paid for by you — see Mykonos yacht companion booking.
Duration pricing
Hourly
The base unit. One hour means one hour with the companion, not one hour including travel.
Extended evening
Two, three and four-hour bookings are priced at a lower effective hourly rate. Anywhere outside Chora and the near bays, an extended booking is much better value than an hourly one, because the travel is the same either way.
Overnight
Priced as a single figure rather than by the hour, running from late evening to the following morning. On an island where taxis effectively stop being available in the small hours, overnight is often the most practical option as well as the best value. See Mykonos overnight companion booking.
Payment
When and how payment happens
Cash in euro at the start of the booking. The amount is the amount quoted when you booked, including the supplement. Nothing is settled afterwards.
Deposits for long bookings
For overnight bookings and multi-day arrangements in peak weeks we may ask for a deposit to hold the date. This is discussed openly at the time and never introduced later.
Currency
Euro. There are cash machines in Chora, Ornos, Platis Gialos and Ano Mera, and they run out in August, which is worth knowing before a Saturday night.
What is not charged
It is worth being explicit about the things that are not added, because in this industry they frequently are.
No booking or agency fee
There is no separate fee for arranging the booking. The rate and the supplement are the whole cost.
No last-minute surcharge

No charge for cancelling in good time
Cancel before the companion has travelled and there is nothing to pay. If she has already made a long journey to the east coast, we ask that the travel supplement be covered.
Nothing added on arrival
The figure quoted when you booked is the figure paid. If anything about the booking changes at your request — a longer duration, a different venue — we will tell you what that costs before it happens, not afterwards.
Comparing costs across the island
The cheapest booking on Mykonos
An hourly booking in Chora during the shoulder season, with no supplement and base rates. That is the floor.
The most expensive
An overnight booking at an east-coast villa in mid-August, with peak rates and the largest supplement. That is the ceiling, and the gap between the two is substantial.
Getting the best value
Book longer rather than shorter, book in the shoulder season if you have the choice, and stay in Chora or the near bays. Those three decisions together make more difference than anything else.
Common questions
Why is August more expensive?
Because everything on Mykonos is more expensive in August. It is the island’s peak demand period and every business on it prices accordingly.
Is there a minimum booking in high season?
One hour in Chora and the near bays, two hours for the interior and east coast, three or four for yachts depending on berth or anchorage.
Do supplements apply everywhere?
No. Chora and its immediate surroundings carry none. Everywhere else scales with distance, and it is always quoted before you commit.
When is the cheapest time to visit?
May, early June and the second half of September. Base rates, easy availability, quiet roads and better weather for anything other than swimming.
Do you take card payment?
No. Cash in euro at the start of the booking.
Is a deposit required?
Only for overnight and multi-day bookings in peak weeks, and it is agreed openly when you book.
Does short notice cost more?

Why we publish this at all
Because the alternative wastes everyone’s time
An enquiry that begins with “how much?” is an enquiry that has not started yet. Publishing the structure means the first message can be about what you actually want rather than what it costs.
Because surprises are the main complaint in this industry
Not the rate itself, but the addition of things nobody mentioned. Removing that is straightforward: quote everything upfront and then do not change it.
Because seasonality is genuinely confusing here
Someone who visited Mykonos in May and returns in August will find every price on the island has moved. Explaining why is more useful than pretending it has not.
