There is very little accommodation directly on the beach — the bay is small and mostly occupied by beach clubs. What exists is high-end and low-density, which means arrivals are noticed but nobody comments.
Hillside villas above the bay

Nearby Platis Gialos accommodation

Afternoon on the beach
Daytime bookings at Psarou are usually accompaniment rather than anything else — the beach is entirely public and entirely visible. A companion joining you at a sunbed for the afternoon is a normal, unremarkable thing. What happens afterwards happens somewhere private.
The transition into the evening
The bay empties between six and eight as people go back to change. That transition is the most common shape of a Psarou booking: afternoon on the beach, then back to a villa or hotel. Book it as a single continuous booking rather than two, because it is cheaper and because it removes a gap that has to be filled.

The single road down to the bay
There is one road into Psarou and it is narrow. In peak season it is congested from late morning to early evening. This is the main reason arrival windows here are longer than the distance suggests.
Parking in high season
The car park above the beach fills by mid-morning in August and the roadside spaces fill shortly after. If your booking involves meeting at the beach, allow for a walk down from wherever a vehicle can actually stop.

Published rates apply. Because most Psarou bookings run three hours or longer, extended pricing is the norm here rather than the exception, and it carries a lower effective hourly rate.
High-season pricing

June and September
The bay is busy but not overwhelmed, the access road works, and parking is possible. These are the best months here by some distance, and rates are lower in the shoulder weeks either side.
July and August
Peak. The beach clubs are fully booked days ahead, the road is congested from mid-morning, and the bay is full of tenders. Everything still works, it simply needs more time allowed for.
Out of season
Most of the bay closes from late October. Accommodation on the hillsides remains but the beach infrastructure does not, and bookings in that period are arranged case by case.
Why Psarou is different from the other beaches
Scale
It is small. The whole bay is a few hundred metres of sand, which means it is never anonymous in the way Paradise or Elia can be. People notice each other here. That is part of the appeal for some visitors and a reason to prefer somewhere else for others.
Shelter
Psarou faces south and is protected from the prevailing northerly wind. When the meltemi is blowing hard and the north coast is unusable, Psarou is calm. That is why the yachts anchor here.
